SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Results that count!

Want to know the top reasons to have your website properly optimized for Search Engines? Do you know what SEO is? Here you go.

Absence of risk. In many cases, paid advertising is subject to click fraud risk and competitor’s black techniques (such as using software that would click your ads thousands of times without any real profit to your site; however, you pay for each click to the search engine). High-tech pay-for-performance programs (such as Google AdWords) claim to have advanced protection against such behavior (and they do have), however the risk can never be reduced to zero.

SEO is free of any risk. Unless you spam or make obvious mistakes, it cannot damage your business.

Reliability. Banner ads or paid search engine placement work until the marketing budget depletes. Then, the site disappears from the listings, and your returning customers cannot find you any more (new visitors cannot find you either). SEO helps buffer this process, so you can gradually reduce the advertising budget as you’re increasing your results obtained from organic search engine listings. Also consumers are more likely to purchase from a site ranked high in the search engine results than from an evidently placed advertisement.

Brand awareness. A web site having a high ranking means more people see the name of the company and become familiar with the company and its products, even if they haven’t made a purchase. A surveys show that consumers are twice as likely to recognize businesses ranked in the top three in search engine results than those appearing in banner ads.

Targeted traffic. Search engine optimization brings paying customers to your door step. The customers that SEO bring you are long for your products/services as they have entered your websites keywords/phrases into the search engines. SEO will further help you transform visitors into buyers by analyzing their behavior once they find your site. You will learn how to transform these visitors into buyers by utilizing the content of your website in the most effective manner possible.

High ROI. In comparison to banner ads, which cost between $2500 to $35000 a month and outsourced SEO plan costs much less than any other marketing effort.

BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE! These days there are lots of options for web companies to cut corners. Yes, I said it. I’m not talking about streamlining the production process of a website – I’m talking about out-sourcing…..and not to a freelance guy down the street. I’m talking about to India, to Brazil, or some other country that is willing to pawn off shoty coding practices and mediocre design to a willing and knowing web design company. Here’s the really bad part – this willing and knowing web design company outsources YOUR website design project to, let’s say India, and then they tweak it a tad and maybe change a couple of colors and then sell it to YOU for full custom designed work! Here let me prove it. We get solicited no less than 10 times a week from various vendors proposing that we outsource our projects overseas – They claim this is better because they are very cheap and we don’t have to have employees that we pay. Read below. This is an actual email I received today.

So, here are my questions to the web companies that outsource their “local” clients project to India, Brazil, or elsewhere.

1. Why, in tough times, would you want to support another country and their economy instead of ours? How do your clients feel about this?

2. How can you sleep at night when you know you are passing off sub-par work and selling it as custom work?

Here are the questions any informed client should ask a web design company before agreeing to do work with them.

1. Have you ever outsourced past web projects to other countries?

2. Do you have designers and developers, in-house, that will work on my project?

3. Have you ever used templates on web projects?

4. Will you provide a custom designed mock-up for my web project based on my input?

So, when you begin your next web project – BUYER BEWARE.  Ask the right questions, get references, and you will be off to a great start on your project.

Simple Steps For Your Site’s Success

When designing a website you must think about and define many different elements prior to arriving at a solution. Here are 5 easy ways to ensure your on-line success:

1. Understand your traffic.

Knowing the amount of daily or monthly traffic is not enough. Use a sophisticated set of analytic tools that will provide you with detailed information about your users. Where are they from? How did they get there?

2. Clean and intuitive home page design.

Make sure your site design, especially the homepage, very straight-forward for all users. Don’t make them think – Do it for them!

3. Have a clear call to action.

What do you want your users the see when they arrive? Where do you want them to go? What do you want to teach them? Having a clear definition for what you want your users to accomplish upon arrival to your site is crucial.

4. Have relevant content.

Having relative and fresh content on your site will enable users to come back. A site that has stagnant content will become dormant. For your site to be useful you have to engage the user. On the web, engagement starts with content.

5. Have a clear path for users to travel.

If you have a promotion, an on-line store, or content you want the user to get to quickly design a path that is user friendly for them to travel.
